Fans became concerned after Dolly Parton’s sister asked for prayers — but new updates are helping calm some of the fear.
According to recent statements from her sisters Freida and Stella Parton, Dolly has been dealing with health challenges connected to kidney stones and related treatments, but family members say she is recovering and responding to care.
Freida later clarified that she “didn’t mean to scare anyone,” explaining that Dolly was simply “a little under the weather” when she asked fans for prayers online.
Dolly herself also addressed the situation, saying her doctors told her that everything she’s dealing with is “treatable,” although she admitted medications and treatments have left her feeling dizzy and unable to perform at full energy right now.
The country legend postponed and later canceled planned Las Vegas dates while focusing on her recovery.
Even through the health concerns and the recent loss of her husband Carl Dean, Dolly has continued working on projects behind the scenes and reassured fans she has no plans to retire.
