Carrie Anne Fleming, a well-known television actress recognized for her roles in iZombie and Supernatural, has died at the age of 51.

Co-Star Shares Emotional Tribute

Fleming’s passing was announced by her Supernatural co-star Jim Beaver, who played her on-screen husband. In a touching Facebook post, he shared that she died on February 26 after a battle with cancer. Reflecting on their first meeting, Beaver described it as a charming “meet cute” moment. He also mentioned a special coincidence—they both had daughters with the same name, spelled differently—which helped form an immediate bond. He remembered Fleming as lively, kind, and full of warmth, with a contagious laugh and a bright personality. Her death was also confirmed by her agent, Simona Crone of Integral Artists.

Early Years and Artistic Roots

Born on August 16, 1974, in Nova Scotia, Canada, Fleming developed a love for the performing arts early in life. She studied drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and trained as a dancer with the Kidco Theatre Dance Group. Before pursuing acting full-time, she worked as a model. Her screen debut came in the 1994 television movie Viper, followed by a small, uncredited role in the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore.

Rise to Recognition

Fleming became more widely known for her portrayal of Candy in iZombie, a role she played from 2015 to 2019. The show, centered on a medical resident living as a zombie while solving crimes, allowed her to demonstrate her acting range. She also appeared in Supernatural as Karen Singer, a character who made a lasting impression despite appearing in only a few episodes.

A Diverse Television Career

Over the years, Fleming built a strong television résumé with appearances in series such as Supergirl, UnREAL, Continuum, The 4400, The L Word, Smallville, The Dead Zone, and Stargate SG-1. Her work across various genres highlighted her adaptability and consistent presence on screen.

Film Appearances

In addition to television, Fleming also took on roles in several films, including 14 Hours, Edison, Good Luck Chuck, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Married Life, The Christmas Consultant, Like Sunday, Like Rain, Rememory, and Heart of Clay.

A Lasting Legacy

Carrie Anne Fleming is remembered as a devoted performer whose kindness and vibrant energy left a strong impact on those around her. Her legacy lives on through the many roles she brought to life and the admiration she earned from colleagues and fans alike.
