Jack checked why his dog Ralph was barking in the street and discovered that beside him was an abandoned child. That child turned out to be a special little girl who changed Jack’s life forever.
Despite his wealth, Jack was known as one of the kindest and most generous people in town. He could have been absolutely happy if, three months earlier, he hadn’t discovered that his wife was cheating on him with his so-called “best” friend.
After the divorce, his wife moved to another state with that former best friend. Nevertheless, Jack did not let the situation harden his heart, and he remained kind to others. Still, everyone knew that, despite his friendliness, he was a rather lonely man.
To fight his loneliness, Jack adopted a dog named Ralph. “At least you won’t betray me, right, Ralph?” he said one day with a sad smile.
Since Jack was busy with work, he trained Ralph to behave well. During the day, he let him run freely in the yard, and when he grew tired, he would return to the house by himself.
One day, after letting Ralph outside, Jack noticed that the dog had not returned. He looked outside and heard Ralph barking in the distance.
Jack climbed over the fence and ran toward the sound. When he reached the road, he saw Ralph sitting next to a newborn lying on the grass.
For her part, Emily adored Jack. She saw him as her hero and always wanted to be near him. They had breakfast together, went for walks in the park, ate ice cream at their favorite cafés, and spent time at the play center.
When Emily turned seven and started school, many parents and teachers noticed how much she resembled Jack. Even Jack’s friends joked that they looked like “twins.”
Jack never considered Emily an adoptive daughter, so he took those comments as a compliment and simply smiled.
One day, Emily was playing with Ralph in the yard when she tripped and scraped her head on the pavement. As Jack cleaned her wound, he noticed something incredible.
“Just look, sweetheart! We have the same birthmark!” he exclaimed in astonishment.
Previously, Jack had not noticed it because the birthmark was hidden under Emily’s hair.
“We were always meant to be together, Daddy,” Emily said as she wiped away her tears and smiled.
Intrigued by this coincidence, Jack decided to get a DNA test. He sent hair samples from Emily and himself to a laboratory.
Three weeks later, he received the results: a 99.9% match. Emily was his biological daughter.
Since Jack had always been faithful to his wife, this could only mean one thing: his ex-wife had been pregnant with his child.
He called her immediately.

“What do you want, Jack?” she responded with contempt.
“Why didn’t you tell me we had a daughter?”
“I didn’t want to raise your child, and I never wanted to see you again. That’s why I abandoned her in the street. I knew you’d find her. Goodbye, and don’t ever call me again,” she said before hanging up.
Jack could not believe what he had just heard and burst into tears. Although this did not affect his love for Emily, he was relieved to have cared for his biological daughter from the beginning.
“What’s wrong, Dad?” Emily asked, worried.
“Everything is fine, sweetheart. I’m just very happy,” Jack replied. “Do you remember when I told you that you were sent to me from heaven, even though I wasn’t your real father?”
Emily nodded.
“You are my real father, Daddy. Don’t forget that,” she whispered.
“Yes, darling, I am your real father. Here—look, the DNA test confirms it,” he said, handing her the results.
“I knew it, Dad. We were always meant to be together,” Emily added, hugging him.
A few years later, Jack found love again. He often attended Emily’s school events and eventually fell in love with one of her teachers.
Two years later they married, and soon Emily had a little sister.
Emily embraced her role as big sister with pride and joy.
Since that day, Jack, Emily, and their family have lived in harmony and happiness. They cherish their time together more than anything, and Jack even decided to retire early to spend more time with his children.
